Cafe Idea
Some terrified ideas ran through our minds…such as what do we do with this space? We always talked about a multi-use space and this gave us that perfect pathway to do just that. We opened up the brick wall in the original, tiny, cramped kitchen and set to work expanding the space and reconfiguring how to best utilize it with the visions in our head. Our first thought was “bakery” and we had a baker all ready to jump in on our crazy idea. We got the bakery up and running and slowly expanded the lunch offerings.
Then we brought in Big Bertha, our glorious La Marzocco Espresso machine (we love her so much) and did some more remodeling. Soon our food offerings included breakfast and a larger lunch selection and our crew expanded as well. We brought in old fashioned, hand dipped ice cream to finish off the space and now we have the “Remember When Cafe, Bakery, Coffee and Ice Cream Shoppe”, with enough food and drink offerings to make everyone happy!!
Custom Bakery Items
We do custom bakery orders of all sizes with cookies, pies and our famous caramel, caramel cream, and cinnamon rolls being the most popular. We have been called on to create large breakfast and lunch orders as well. We’ve delivered crockpots full of soup to offices for lunch or have take roasters full of a special lunch to another hard working crew as a thank-you from thier bosses. Whatever the idea, we do our best to brainstorm and accomodate!!
We always wanted to get the whole family involved and have been able to do that with our family ranch providing the beef directly to the cafe. We use all the beef we cut and actually save the steaks to sell to our customers that love to grill or camp! With a freezer they can pick their own steaks out of it’s a win for everyone…especially since we really like to hoard our beef…it’s that good!! But we know it’s good to share!

Our mission is for everyone to feel welcome and at home inside our walls. We felt like there was no better way to do that than to keep the feeling of home…with mismatched plates, cups, glasses and utensils and the several year search to find the perfect tables and chairs. We have 12 tables that all have a story to tell…all 1950’s and 1960’s era tables that have stood the test of time. No two are alike, and only a few chairs have a mate.
The tables traveled from Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming! Customers are fun to watch as they decide which table to sit at, they will pick a table that has a memory for them, is a favorite color, or is the one they always wished they could have. Whatever the reason we love to hear their stories and see their faces as the experience the fun atmosphere of our cafe!
We love to visit and get to know people and nothing gives greater joy than to see people enjoying our store and café.
